Creative Concepts PR

Creative Concepts PR offers publicity strategy and implementation services, with a particular interest in working with brands for purpose. We can manage short-term PR Campaigns, work with your team as part of your long-term publicity strategy or upskill you with the basics so you can manage your own publicity with minimal ongoing assistance.

From our home base in Townsville, North Queensland, we work with clients throughout Australia to fully understand their business and objectives, and tailor a campaign which includes, local, state and national mainstream media, industry publications and podcasts.

We’re passionate about giving back to our local community, supporting our charities of choice with publicity services. As the publishers of North Queensland’s premier business magazine, BDmag, we showcase the region’s business community through our print and online channels.

Julie Johnston

MANAGING DIRECTOR

With over 20 years’ experience working in media, marketing and video production, I love finding the beating heart of a story. Because I choose to work with clients I genuinely believe in, it’s easy for me to help motivate you to overcome any barriers that are holding you back from sharing your voice. I show you where to look for PR opportunities, how to craft your story, and encourage you to remember your “why” to give you the confidence to shine.

I love sharing stories so in May 2020, I relaunched BDmag, a quarterly print magazine and online platform showcasing North Queensland’s businesses, entrepreneurs and innovators. As Managing Editor I get to meet so many talented people in Townsville, and give back to the business community by sharing non-advertorial stories. This also gives me an outlet to encourage business owners to think proactively about PR opportunities and sharing their expertise through Guest Article Posting.

My mind is a creative, fast-paced place, always buzzing with ideas. I balance this with plenty of time in nature and listening to my body for when it is time to rest, so that I can continue to bring fresh, creative thinking to my clients.

Georgie Desailly

PR COORDINATOR

Georgie is our Public Relations Coordinator and loves working with purpose-led clients to build their profile in the media. Having studied in NYC with The School of The New York Times, she is passionate about the inner workings of the media industry and the role PR plays in identifying newsworthy stories.

Georgie also works as our features writer for BDmag, using her journalism experiences to tell the stories of entrepreneurs, thought-leaders and changemakers in North Queensland.

`When she’s not working, you can find her hunting for the best second hand clothing bargain or adding to her colourful earring collection.

Meghan Boland

OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

Meghan is our operations whizz! She has spent the past 18 years building experience in event management, sales, marketing and communication, and office administration.

She oversees all the day-to-day activities for both Creative Concepts PR and BDmag processes (and thus keeping Julie and Georgie sane!).

When she’s not working, Meghan spends her downtime with her husband and two children, and reading books when she should be weeding the garden.
